1. Adnan, how long have you been in the mobile phone trade?
i started long time ago, in 1994. i began in istanbul, turkey. after a few years gaining experience, i moved to dubai. i have been in the market for more that 20 years.
2. How come you came into this business? How did you start?
in that time, mobile phones were not asmavailable as they are today. still, my vision was that they would become a necessity, so i used the opportunity, and with a lot of risk invested in this business.
3. How was last year?*
i must say that last year was good for us. both of our companies, and dubai and wien achieved targets which were set at the beginning of the year. hard work, constant monitoring of the market, and smart decisions brought us good results.
4. Where you want to grow? What brands do you think are the future?
My vote is going to huawei and lenovo. very good phones with very competitive prices. also, we must be focused on Chinese manufacturers like Xiaomi, Zen phone and oPPo.
5. You spent 20,000 euros in advertising on handelot, do you think it has been worth it?
handelot gathers traders from all over the world in one place. any advertisement on such a platform can bring only benefits.
6. What are your best-selling phones at the moment?
lets say that 50% of our business goes toward iPhones, 35% is samsung models and 15% all the rest.
7. How is Q1 of 2017?
First quarter of this year, again i must say, was successful. with very big and competitive offers of iPhone and samsung models (Chinese spec), we managed to close the first quarter of the year according to our goals.
8. What advice would you give to the new generation of traders on how to become successful?
work hard, make smart decisions but don’t run away from risk, be trustworthy and honest, be persistent. it will pay off.
